As part of my "Tour of Toys" around Hong Kong, I made a stop at CTMA Centre. As you may recall from previous posts, this is a veritable Toy Mall (yes such a thing exists), and despite not having the big bucks to shell out for the latest Hot Toys pre-orders, I made sure to check out Toy Hunters. This shop is famous for being the one and only, official Hot Toys retail store, and I saw evidence first hand of it's popularity; as there was an overwhelmingly massive crowd lining up for the cash register. Check out some nice pics of their stock, including some very desirable up-coming Hot Toys releases.
How to Get There
So just in case you plan on visiting Hong Kong, or somehow find yourself there for the first time, here's some friendly background info. on how to get to CTMA. Essentially, the mall is located one block North of the Yau Ma Tei, MTR Station. One exits the station onto the landmark Nathan Rd., and travels north, turning the corner towards East, onto Dundas St. The first street you cross here is Sai Yeung Choi Street. Turn the corner, and there you are at CTMA Centre, 1N Sai Yeung Choi Street South, Hong Kong. Take the escalator up to get to Toy Hunters.
How to Get the Toys
Please note that shops tend to not open before noon, and as a safe bet, visitors should avoid going before 1 PM. For your convenience, most of the photos below are linked to big-bad-toy-store.com (click "BBTS" text next to photo), because I know how frustrating it can be to see something on a blog and then have to search for it online. Of course, you can always head out to Toy Hunters yourself, hehe. By the way, if you ever do plan on visiting this shop, be prepared for some disappointment, as all the hottest items will be on pre-order, and the masses line up just for the chance to wait.
